Hyperliquid is a Layer-1 blockchain focused on on-chain trading, with a perpetual futures and spot exchange built into the chain. HYPE is its native token.
Instead of an automated market maker, Hyperliquid runs a fully on-chain central limit order book on its own Layer-1, aiming for an experience similar to a centralised exchange while keeping trades on-chain.
HyperEVM is Hyperliquid's Ethereum-compatible smart-contract environment, which lets developers deploy EVM applications that can interact with the chain's trading infrastructure.
HYPE is used for staking with validators to secure the network, paying gas fees on HyperEVM and taking part in governance.
The maximum supply of HYPE is 1 billion tokens.
